SOFT SPOT is the instrumental soundtrack celebrating the fuzzy feelings of joy and gratitude we feel surrounded by our favourite people.

Their quest to sonically render this feeling has led the Sydney-based group to an uncategorisable, idiosyncratic sound - part post-rock’s climactic crescendos, part ambient-electronica’s textural soundscapes, all wrapped in a jazz sensibility in no small part due to each member's career as accomplished jazz improvisers and composers.

However you choose to label this group, the resultant music is unmistakable: an uplifting and cinematic listening experience made to nourish audiences. Since forming in 2020 their live shows have been likened to long-time influences Sigur Rós and The Cinematic Orchestra, and their releases finding comparisons to other explorative jazz-adjacent acts such as Portico Quartet, Joseph Shabason, Slowly Rolling Camera, Hidden Orchestra and The Album Leaf.

SOFT SPOT have quickly become a local hit, selling out their most recent show in Sydney, in addition to performing an immersive sound baths event to a sold out crowd of lying listeners in a yoga studio.

Their debut self-titled album - a masterfully composed sonic suite that weaves through tapestry of textures - was released mid 2024 and praise by local media as an "an immersive and genre-bending listening experience" (Eastside Radio) and "an alluring, tranquil trip" (FBI radio). They have also been played on KEXP's Pacific Notions show, and had their single ‘Before I Burst’ recognised in the Wettest100, an annual peer-voted countdown of left-field Australian music.
